NEC is announcing they are discontinuing all Premises based system

Cisco, Avaya and Mitel are the "obvious" choices for a certain class of customer that still thinks they want or need a traditional, on premise system and a big name. There are at least a dozen Asterisk flavors to choose from and work with to create your own on premise or cloud or hybrid...

NEC is announcing they are discontinuing all Premises based system

I would bet Mitel will buy what’s left of the CPE biz. That leaves Mitel, Avaya and Cisco as the only relevant, large players in this ever shrinking, but never totally vanishing space. The end of an era it seems. Tough for us old timers to believe.. teamonesolutions.com

external call automatically placed on hold

Another thought is that the user played with their voicemail settings and may have inadvertently done something like call screening or transfer to different number the their extension. Calling form another phone internally would reveal if the issue is in the voicemail or the phone though...

Setting up an SV9100 from scratch - need some advice

That is true. Check the subnets. I think by default they use /16 for some reason and that would explain it. Assuming you configure two different /24 networks you should be fine. You might need to save one, reset and then set the other, reset. Also know that NTAC will tell you to not use the...

Setting up an SV9100 from scratch - need some advice

And 84-26 is not where you point to. 84-26 just needs to be an extra unused address in the voice network like 10.1.10.132 in your case. Trying to attach PcPro to this post for you.. Another tip, forget about auto configuration. Think about and choose either plug and play if you don't have a...

Setting up an SV9100 from scratch - need some advice

Setting up an SV9100 from scratch - need some advice

Are you sure you have the IPLE? It is a daughterboard on the 9100. You also have to manually assign licenses for it: http://necntac.com/answer/11373 What error do you get when you try to change the IPL IP address? Are you using DHCP on the 9100 or external? I recommend using DHCP on the...

    SV8300 IPLC Config

Thanks a lot for the reply. I will consider doing that, but was hoping to avoid a trip to a site that is pretty far for me and I would have to go out there, make changes, reset system and move cables around after doing this.. Do you know the answer to my main concern? Does it really matter if...
