By default, opennms is supposed to collect with snmp v2, but there is a file where you can hardcode which IP to specifically use v2. The messages have stopped relating to that.
Thanks for your input.
I saw an error on the Opennms server for this device which is directly related. Also, this indicates Snmp V1. I will try and see about this.
SnmpIfCollector: getNextSnmpV1Pdu: finished building next pdu, num vars in pdu=0
thanks anyway but I don't see a relation except for the first part of the error message. The answer in the list doesn't even make sence. I have 2 servers that are being moniitored, neither with the patch installed, and one doesn't give me the error.
Thank you anyway.
Thank you for the response. I cannot get to that document since I don't have a sun service contract.
I tried to look up the issue but couldn't find info. What was the problem and how does that solve it please.
Thanking you in advance.
I have an OPENNMS network monitor server, an added an address of a Solaris 9 server for it to monitor. I looked at the /var/adm/messages on the solaris server and see alot of this. How can I get rid of this error? I have other solaris servers and this is not the case?
/usr/lib/snmp/snmpdx...
Thank you.
I am simply doing this because the date/time on the machine doesn't stay correct. Will this fix it or is there something else?
What would be the consequences of replacing the entire nvram/tod chip with one from another machine?
I have an old Ultra 5 that cannot hold a current date. I do not see a battery that can be replaced. After doing some reading I see an NVRAM/TOD chip that I thought might be a problem.
Does anyone know where the battery is, if this nvram/tod chip is all that needs to be replaced, and what...
I learned what the problem was. The version of pine on redhat wanted each Inbox to have a cur, tmp, and new folder. The versions they were using on Solaris did not require this, so if it saw cur, it opened it. Once I created the empty directories in the Inbox I created for the previous months...
I moved my qmail server from solaris to redhat linux and pine is used to as the mail client, using maildir format. Each month I create a new inbox under ~user/mail/ for the prior month's email. Since running on linux, some of the Inboxes display a directory listing of the Inbox instead of the...
I have a program that generates an rss feed by reading each line in a linux directory which contains mp3s and printing it out. This works fine.
I was asked to modify the program so that some of the fields in the MP3s ID3 tag are included on the line. I was able to write a program to extract...
Thanks for the info.
You mention a patch, but how do I know I have the version with the patch? The installation (performed by my coworker) was a qmailrocks installation.
Does anything need to be put between the "" in RELAYCLIENT or is that left as ""?
Can I put as many lines as I want into...
I don't know if I explained correctly. I only want to accept mail on port 25 from the IP address for their servers.
If I put IPs in that file, do I have to rebuild a DB or something, and if so, how.
Thanks so much.
Christine
We use an outside spam service to filter spam, which our MX record points to. For inbound mail, we do not have that restriction. The Spam company wants us to specify which IP addresses to accept mail from. I belive this is to be done in the rcpthosts file, although it looks like the format...
Another newbie.
I just installed the demo portable 4.8 version, on a machine with 2 network cards. I have an environment of Cisco switches. The docs say that this version does not require a mirrored port and traffic can be captureed from an entire vlan on that port. Do I have to setup a SPAN...
