    Power Adapter to device database

Well, in my book, a "Transformer" is an AC only device that simply steps down (or up) the AC voltage using two magnetically coupled coils of wire, so that anything that changes AC to DC or filters the output could be a "Power Supply". That being said, these little black boxes have been "AC...

    Issues with Gmail account

I don't do Gmail, but it appears that you are connecting to an IMAP server but trying to use the POP3 protocol.

Can I tell what phone number is being dialed by an alarm panel?

Have to wonder if the alarm company has one incoming line with their modem locked to a lower speed which will connect better with Cable connected panels. I can't believe (Actually these days I'll believe pretty much anything) that the Alarm company is living with a bad incoming line - they'd...

    dhcp server errors

Check DHCP Option 3 - Routers disclaimer - I just Googled "DHCP default Gateway", it has been ages since I set up a DHCP server.

Help with a video adaptor from PC to TV

Look for DVI to HDMI, it may be as simple as a cable.

    programatically controlling the stapler

I don't know this multi-function printer, but the FAX function is probably accessed via a separate driver, not PCL or PJL.

    Decoder with multiple RAMs

Can't help with the programming part, especially without knowing the system / CPU, but you have a 20-bit address with the top 4 bits always high and the remaining 0xF0000 thru 0xFFFFF divided evenly into 8 blocks. Chip 1 would be 0xF0000 thru 0xF1FFF Chip 2 would be 0xF2000 thru 0xF3FFF ...

    FAT32 folder name change

What you need is a hex editor that is able to mount the raw drive and edit individual sectors

    TOSHIBA DK 280 PROGRAMMING

You need the I&M manual or at least the "Program Record Sheets". It's been ages since I worked on a DK, but I don't recall ever using a "password" for keyset programming, although there is a special key sequence to enter programming mode.

Wall penetrations in HVAC closet with one 1 HR rated firewall (fire wall)

I'm going to go with an overly cautious AHJ, not actually in the written code but still within his authority to require. Kind of like the local Fire Marshal who required all paint in my community theater's scene shop to be stored in a fire resistant metal cabinet even though it was all latex...

Printer won't grab IP, but Laptop WILL on same ethernet wall jack port

LOL, in hindsight, was the laptop actually making a wired connection thru the jack, or a was it making a wireless conection?

Discussion between me and an IT tech

While I will agree that there are time when it is expedient to split a cable or run a long patch cable around/over a wall on a TEMPORARY basis, there is no excuse for getting lazy and not connecting all 4 pairs on the initial install. Likewise, if you know you are pulling a cable on a difficult...

    Mircosoft Excel, printing solution

Does your projector have a setting for Rear projection?, but then everything whould be reversed not just the spreadsheet. As Cmeagan said, some printers have a mirror image mode to print t-shirt transfers, but again, that would affect all printouts, not just the room layout.

    Tortech PA-35 paging amplifier

Look for "Bogen WMT", that's what popped up out of the depths of my memory for the matching transformer we used to use to convert from 600 ohm paging to Aux input

    telephone not ringing out

What happens if you connect alarm panel directly to the phone line and call that number? Does it answer immediately, or possibly ring busy? If you have a test phone (buttset), will it dial out and ring in with just the test phone and panel connected to the phone line? Basically I'm trying to...
