There's a facility called SCSI probe which should be able to mount the disc - does it use Lacie drivers or Apple drivers? Have you checked with either of these?

You've got a lot of reflections and highlights - that's what takes the time. The manual has some suggestions for reducing render time by altering the view. Bryce is slow to render. I did one at 800x640, 300dpi that took 14 hours ... (It's the bluish one with pyramids at...

Trashing the prefs file will also solve many problems.

MacGeneral: Cable modem seems to need resetting often. Works fine, but every now and again won't connect, TCP panel shows 169... and I have to turn it off and on again. Is this a general fault with cable modems? I shall have words with our provider.

Also 7300/166, but now a G3/500 with xlr8 card. Running OS 8.6 and connecting to Web via cable modem (part of tv/phone/net setup). TCP set to "ethernet" and configure using "DHCP server". Any help?

Both. Screen size and 300dpi; PowerMac 7300/166. The latter is a bit quicker now, with a G3/500 processor now. And there were a lot of reflections... I wanted a print quality version as well as a desktop picture.

I had one picture that took 13 hours. Didn't burn into screen. Should have turned the screen off... but never thought of it; just went to bed and left the program to run.
