Thought that but no other user with the same problem. After closing the open vbs files via the server in computer management, the pc is restarted and works fine after that.
Same thing again. Same PC, same scenario.
PC locks up when the user has logged on and stops on the background screen. If you clear the vbs files from the server and then restart, all is then fine.
Those same scripts can be run from the PC, and are fine and complete as expected.
This issue has only started recently.
A number of Servers will have their CPU spike and on checking, svchost.exe has got hold of it. On checking wuauserv is listed in the tasklist /svc search.
If you stop automatic updates service on the server is question, the cpu goes back to normal.

Windows 7 will not update with error shown above. Tried everything to repair but noticed that program's have taken ages to install and trying to install a hot fix and it just sits there as if waiting for something. Tried sfc/scan now and reports windows protection error.
It did have avast on it...
I wonder if anyone can help with this.
We have WSUS deployed on a Windows 2003 Server. All is running fine except when we power on a new PC that is reporting 200+ updates required, the CPU on the Server spikes and stays like that and we have to them terminate the application pool for WSUS to...
I've logged on as an admin user to try and see what is going on but never thought of trying to print to allow that to update. most of the users are frigged once they have locked up and the local profile has to be created when this has happened. its something to try, but the confusing thing is...
They were installed both via a script and manually. The PC's lock up at the point when they are trying to update the printer driver by the looks of it but not all of them lock up. It is always the same PC's as well, which is still a mystery.
