Thought that but no other user with the same problem. After closing the open vbs files via the server in computer management, the pc is restarted and works fine after that.

Same thing again. Same PC, same scenario. PC locks up when the user has logged on and stops on the background screen. If you clear the vbs files from the server and then restart, all is then fine. Those same scripts can be run from the PC, and are fine and complete as expected.

System Restore does not work and the system readiness tool just sits there when it states it is installing the update for 2/3 hours without doing anything.

SFC scan also returns a Windows Resource Protection warning and that the repair service could not be started.

They were installed both via a script and manually. The PC's lock up at the point when they are trying to update the printer driver by the looks of it but not all of them lock up. It is always the same PC's as well, which is still a mystery.
