Yes of course. I didn't intend to give up on Win 10. I just have a few legacy applications which won't run beyond Win 7 no matter what I do, so I keep the old Win 7 laptop around. I'll give up on that particular printer with Win 10.
Do you have a second computer that you can test it on with Windows 10?
No, I don't. But I have come to agree to give up on that particular printer and Win10.

Brother MFC8660dn nightmare:
Working fine with our Win7 computers (direct USB and networked) using the BROTHER provided Drivers. Then I upgraded to HP Spectre x360 and Win 10. Win 10 and all of its build in drivers are up to date.
UNABLE to install and use this printer:

I've used Acronis for years, and it has saved my bacon on more than one occasion. I have found, though, that I have to religiously download any patches/updates they offer...and each time I need to build another Acronis boot disk. Nothing is perfect, or guaranteed, but FWIW I'm an Acronis fanboy.
I've downloaded the Win10 ISO to upgrade my Win 7, but I don't want to perform the upgrade at this time. Does anyone know if the "free upgrade" is keyed to the download of the ISO, meaning I can install after the deadline without cost? Or when I install, if after the deadline, is the...
Visioneer Strobe 400 scanner supposedly is not supported in Win10. Does anyone have any direct experience? There are no new drivers available, so I wondered if anyone just gave it a try.
I have had no trouble getting Lotus Smartsuite and all programs to run in Win. 7 Professional. I did nothing special to install them except I launched Setup.EXE rather than autoruns. I made no adjustments. I DID go to http://www.xpertss.com/ to find out how to get help files, but have long...
Thanks TonHu,
So tell me about any app that replaces Approach? That would import my existing database, etc.? I don't mind upgrading apps, just don't want to loose data or functionality. Any suggestions would be welcome. For instance: Open Office does NOT fit the bill. Microsoft ACCESS might...
Thanks NESWalt, I did know that. My confusion has to do with a 64 bit machine vs 64 or 32 bit OS or other software. I keep having this paranoid feeling that a 64 bit computer with a 32 bit OS running is somehow going to bite me on the butt. I'm aware of the drivers issues. But the above advice...
Because some of my applications (Lotus SmartSuite in particular) will not run properly in 64 bit OS, and because I'm probably going to have to purchace a new 64 bit computer... I want to install my (new, unopened, full version) XP SP3 OS on the new machine in hopes that it will run my older 32...
XP Pro SP2
After uninstalling (with difficulty) Windows Defender my computer now goes to the Chkdsk announcement blue screen on most...BUT not every restart. Checkdisk (not /f) completes with no errors found, and the system continues and boots with no evident problems. Then, a boot or two...
Stduc, thank you for your observations. I do believe the .tib and ISO are the same build, but I'm not so sure that it isn't worth trying what you suggest.
