It appears that I have fixed this problem just by stretching the field vertically a little and making the vertical elasticity variable.
Thanks to anyone who looks at the problem.
I have a report field that is vertically expandable an can have up to 2000 characters. Below it on the layout are other fields. The problem that I am seeing is that the large (2000 char) field is expanding, but the below fields do not shift down, such that the large field overwrites some of...
I have a requirement to reverse the Page-up, Page-down vs the Ctl-Page-up, Ctl-Page-down on a single form, but it remain normal for all other forms run from the same bin. So I cannot use Oracle terminal to change the values of the key-strokes since other forms in the same bin should not be...
I have a 6i report that includes a matrix that wraps to multiple pages (vertically, not horizontally). The problem is that even though the matrix covers about 8 pages, it is putting a blank page (heading but no data) between each one. I have taken page protect off the frame that includes the...
I have a column that is a varchar2(4000) for the user to enter lots of text. This column is selected in two different reports. In one of them, it reflects all the carriage returns and/or tabs, in the other one it does not. I have checked the property palette of both and they are identical...
I have a request to provide a windows pop-up to allow the user to specify the desired directory path (but not a file name) where the user wishes to save a file. The user will fill in the file name on the form, but desires to have a tool for specifiying the path to insure that the user gets it...
I have a strange request for a report that I am hoping someone can give me a suggestion on how to handle it. There is a multiple page report that the user wants a form feed after the first page. This is so the first page is printed with nothing on the back, and the rest of the pages are duplexed...
Is there a way using strickly Oracle products & tools for a PL/SQL procedure to read external files when we don’t know the file name, but do know the file location and that only files needed for this procedure are located in that location? After reading the file, I need to move the file to a...
I have a procedure that uses UTL_FILE to open and read a file. I am in an 8.1.7 database. Is there any way to programmatically move or delete the file after I finish with it so that the procedure doesn’t read it again?
I tried that, it let me create a link with a valid userid and invalid password. It must not check until the dlink is actually used.
Thanks for trying to help.
I don't want the instructor to actually create another session or even log in. I just want to verify that his username and password are valid, then return to the students screen so he/she can continue.
No, I do not want to compare against the current user. The instructor will not be logged in, just grading the work and proving who he/she is before it accepts the grade.
I have a student using a form and entering information. I have in instructor looking over his/her shoulder. When the instructor is satisfied with the student’s work, he/she is to enter his/her username and password to approve it to the system. Is there a way in forms or PL/SQL that I can...
I have created a report consisting of its own section (command) and 3 sub reports. Each of the sub reports is located in the details section of the main report. The sub reports print on top of each other unless I spread them out a lot in the design screen. Is there a way to make each sub...
No the number of detail records per column are not always the same. I am experimenting with using a cross-tab (after creating a view in Oracle that had just the columns that I need). Is there a way to suppress (not print) cross-tab cells where the value is zero (0)?
