I think i´ve seen that feature on Ericsson MD110/MX-ONE PBXs, that is carrier dependent. I know for a fact that it is/was available on Spain by Telefonica, also in LatAm by Movistar/Telefonica. UK was also a market for this feature but i don´t know which carrier, if any, offered it.

As you said, it's been a long time. As I remember you had to upload a modified version of the NIU R6A firmware to trick the board into thinking it was a NIU (SCSI version) and then you used the same commands as in the regular NIU. Then you needed to upgrade NIU2 to its regular firmware.

Yes, you can have both ports on different vlans, but the configuration is done on the switch. Voice vlan is tagged and data port untagged, then on the phone you set the vlan setting to the tagged vlan and its done.

We´ve used Epygi Quadro E1/T1 gateways, and they work great with VCX. Don´t know how much cheaper they are compared to Audiocodes gateway in your area.

There´s no problem in using both boards on the same mag, we have several combinations of them (ELU34+RG5,PU4,PU5 in Stack and /50) and it hasn´t caused problems.
