That will never work. In ech domain you would have a different computer account (SID) for each tablet.

Well, whatever solution you choose, keep one thing in mind, a server with 2 power supplies normally does lad balancing between the two supplies.
Meaning, if you place one on a UPS and for example the other one not, and the one NOT connected to the UPS fails, the one connected to the UPS will...
Yep, You need to install the shutdown agent on every server.

I do not think a Sniffer will help you in this case, ICMP is ICMP, you will need some additional tools to see witch processes are using ICMP locally on the server.
You can find out a lot with process explorer (procexp.exe) from Sysinternals. This shows you witch process is connected to witch...
that is correct, trying to ugrade an 9x client from a 10x server, by pushing the new 10x client software fails.
Managing 9x clients with the 10.x server is also a nasty thing. Some clients do pop up on the server after changing the gdc.dat, other never show up at the server while the clients...
Anybody has a list of what is fixed between version 10.0.0.359 and 10.0.1.1000?
If I compare the readme files, only the amount of known issues is growing, not decreasing?
We do have a lot of issues testing 10.0.0.359 in our 9x environment, but I wonder now if I should spent the time upgrading...
correct me if i am wrong, I do not have my books at hand here, but the 343434343 is also a back pressure signal of I believe 3com devices.
So depending on where in the (corrupted?) frame you find these patterns, it can be a backpressure signal, or you have indead a corrupt hub or nic port...
do you have any JET-direct boxes? They are nice plug and play, but also braodcast out IPX (at least older version do, no sure about the latest version). Also printers with build in NW card, sometimes IPX need to be disabeled as it is enabeled by default.

If you can Sniff it, you can solve it!

why not? You can only scan the one machine you need, and increase the time between the pings to prevent loads of network traffic, if that is the issue.
This is the same as pinging the 65k ports on the machine.
Robbie
why not use a simple port scanner like superscan for that? If you hit an excisting port, the machine will reply and you will see in the scan log that the port excists on that machine.

a good free sniffer to start with would be packetzyer (networkchemistry.com) or ethereal. As you have two hubs, I eould start to plug in a sniffer there to see what traffic is passing during one of these unhappy events.

ethereal and/or packetyzer are good free analyzers.
connect the preferrably to a hub instead of a switch and you will see what you are lookin for.
if you see all the different ethernet frame formats, will depend on the network you are connected to.
