I don't develop much new stuff these days, but I have thrown together a simple app to help myself exercise my hand after a recent procedure.
One form, two buttons and a few labels... thinking it would be a really good first app for Android.
I think I need some kind of on-line course in Android...
I have a customer who uses West Wind utilities to send out emails to suppliers for prices.
Two suppliers have ceased receiving their emails, both are using Ionos to handle their emails and I think
they are being rejected because of the Date: header is not acceptable.
Has anyone else come...
Sorry for the departure from the theme, but I'm sure we all generate spreadsheets and feel the need to password protect them from time to time,
so hopefully no one will object. B-)
My wife had such a sheet, after a year or so she had completely forgotten the password and it became 'important'...
I just upgraded my lappie to W11, thinking that customers will be pushed to do so soon - as with W10, and not wanting any unforeseen issues to bite me!
I cannot see anything life threatening... any gotchas I should be looking for? like the fix for general fields required in W10?
Having a brain freeze or senior moment I think.
I have a form with a grid, the user likes that the currently selected record/row is highlighted but
would also like that same highlighting on a cell if the user clicks in it.
At the moment it changes so the background is white.
I've been playing...
Is there a way to do this without a SIP Trunk?
Still thinking about my two IP phone home... wanting to be able to transfer
calls from one to the other... but trying to avoid paying for a trunk...

Hi
New to this forum, looked for the above with no luck, hoping someone can help me.
We have a home office set up, using two Aastra 6730i desk phones and Sipgate.
We did use Cicso ATAs but a while back they started interfering with our internet connection.
Now we would like to be able to...
I have a process that creates a table with 48,000 records, I copy that to an xls workbook less a few columns.
COPY TO (M.FILENAME) XL5 FIELDS EXCEPT DRGNO, FLAG, LINENO
If I do no more than that, there are 48,000 rows in the resultant worksheet
If I then open the xls using automation in...
Just had an interesting experience where I couldn't create a folder because ADIR recognises zip archives as folders...
m.dirs = ADIR(tmpdirs,"d:\$incoming\*.*","D")
Will include d:\$incoming\E7895.zip - even with the "D" flag set.
So my app is looking for an existing folder starting with...
I think Alaska xBase++ supports the C style increment/decrement...
It would have been nice to have that... I've just been inserting columns into a wide excel spreadsheet and having to
manually increment the indexes to the column number (because this was not anticipated in my original design - I...
I have been using WestWind products for a long, long time, for HTTP and Mail.
They don't work so well with the 64bit version of VFPa, Rick supports them (ish) on the 32bit
version. So just now I have had to resort to an old command line utility called MailSend.

I recently posted as to whether or not anyone knew if the latest versions of XFRX were faster
than the version I was running (19ish).
To follow up on this I can say there is a significant improvement on the hardware I'm using for the job in hand,
I can meet my deadline of processing within a...
I would be very interested in that...
I use the 32bit VFPOLEDB extensively.
** edit **
I noticed on the long strings thread that the screenshot from a user included a caption Visual Foxpro Advanced

I use an included table in many of my applications, in there I store binary files that may be
useful at runtime, documents, .dlls, executables, anything I need after the install.
I search the table, find the binary and use STRTOFILE(binaries.binary,m.Filename) to drop
them where required...
I've been using xfrx for a very long time, 2007 I think, and am currently using (I think) version 191.9
I have a project where I need to produce a very large number of reports (call it 2 million) in PDF format and
it looks like it will take about 10 days to complete... which is a tiny bit too...
Just been dealing with a little support issue on a, very, remote system - nearer to MikeL than me - an old app
written in VFP6 (Started in 2002!).
User retiring, new user, new laptop, WFH, Windows 11... trying to locate the Sage Accounts data so that customers can
be read directly from there...
I am looking at reading the event log to look for possible 'probes' and update the firewall rules automatically
Anyone done this already?

I received a letter this morning, looked exactly like the HMRC one that also
arrived, same envelope, same fonts etc. So, I casually thought it was genuine... opened
it and it was a reminder to file my confirmation statement, which I was about to anyway.
It has QR codes on it to make the process...
