Avaya released ASP S8300 R5.1 this week which upgrades the underlying S8300 AVP/OEM VMware 6.5 (assuming you are on R8) to VMware 7.x. If you have an R8 install or upgrade in progress you may want to talk to your vendor. There is a $0 material code for the upgrade of the license.
Anyone else having issues opening a support ticket. I have been trying off and on for the last two days without luck. Opened a onecare ticket for the support site. Wondering if it is me or if the support site is broken.
Has anyone come up with a reasonable way to get an identity certificate onto a Workplace Client on iOS?
Note: the SBC is configured for Mutual TLS so the client cannot make a HTTPS connection until it has an identity certificate. Apparently Apple has them severely locked down. The workplace...
Didn't see anyone else post.
Ray Baums mobile/remote location requirements are in full swing.
For any new install, upgrade of a system, or significant expansion, you should have a third party overlay for E911 location reporting for all your remote workers on Workplace on Windows or MAC...
To prepare for 988 - National Suicide Prevention rollout next year, all carriers are supposed to disable 7 digit dialing on the 24th. For most systems there should be no impact however you may have issues with local trunks at gateway sites. You may want to review your ARS rules and send any 7...
If you have an Avaya ASBCE configured for remote worker, you're probably subject to hacking attempts. It is strongly suggested to place the ASBCE external interface in a DMZ behind a firewall. Even so. SIP and HTTPS services have to be exposed on the internet.
For SIP hacking attempts the ASBCE...
Anyone known where there is a reasonable list of bad service providers know to harbor malicious actors? I've been building up my firewall rules on the SBC and have eliminated most attacks however I'm still getting a few every couple of days.
I had one major issue and eventually had to open a...
For anyone who needs to deploy an OVA you will find the Avaya development root CA expired this past weekend. While Avaya is spinning up new OVAs, if you need to deploy on vCenter 6.5 you will find the OVA deployment will fail.
2 options
1. Use SDM Client.
2. Repackage the OVA using the...
Avaya introduced SHA2 signed files in release 3.2.6. Prior to release 3.2.6 an SHA1 developer certificate was used. The SHA1 certificate will expire 28 March 2020. Avaya has not released any PSN or other information related to how the phones functionality will be impacted once the SHA1...
Avaya has released a session manager security service pack which should resolve the potential journald issue noted in PSN20420. Anyone running SM8.0 should load the Security Service Pack.
Certificates issued after July 1st 2019 with a validity period of greater then 825 days are going to give you a headache with the upcoming release of iOS-13, macOS-10.15 and Android-Q. Additionally, the DNS will be required in the Subject Alternate Name (SAN) extension even if the DNS matches...
Well, it took less than 24 hours since I posted about the J100 phones which were not supposed to require a two-stage upgrade ever again and Avaya made a liar out of me. See PSN020401.
For anyone who has time Monday morning (or wants to send out some e-mails to their Avaya reps this weekend) I...
Patent 20180146089 issued to Apple yesterday basically is coverage paths, send-all-calls, DND, and providing different coverage options. Things we've been doing for decades. Borders on the absurd.
For those of you who may be using Microsoft Exchange UM Online you can breath easier. Your system won't fail next month. Microsoft announced a new date of April 30th 2019 for end of SBC support.
I expect Avaya will have a solution readily available with Avaya Aura 8...
Have a customer with dual data centers with redundant SBCs and Verizon Trunks. When a response to an invite is a 480 (and some others including a 503) Verizon keeps sending invites to both data centers non stop. I have changed the 480 to a 404 to get the tidal wave to stop however I don't really...
