I've created a user ID ( _adminsupspec ) to be used as a template. All the required groups are included in the ID. The ID has been disabled and the managed by field is clear. I've set the ID to be hidden from exchange address lists.
So far the disabled account is still viewable in the...
The Friday mystery. On several occasions over the past few months I’ve had the following event happen:
A printer connected to a system via lpt1 will switch to DOT_4 after the system has been through a power down and a restart via the power switch. The printer is shared on the network. Any other...
This script connects to systems listed in a file and runs the systeminfo cmd, returning the output to stdout where it's captured and written to a text file. All works well until I come across one system that is online but does not respond to the system info cmd. At that point the script waits...

I have a problem with a single user trying to save an excel file to a network drive. Other users with identical permissions(RWX) do not have a problem saving data.
The server OS is win2k or win2k3. The user has RWX permission to the directory. The user can save the file to the desktop and...

Using Query/400 how do you create a result field that is numeric from a character field. ex. fld1 = "124" char and I want to make it fld1Num = 124 numeric. I've played with the value and digits functions so far.

I need to compare prtf parms. Are they stored within the prtf, or in a seperate DB file? If they're in the prtf, does anyone know a utility to extract the parms and place them in a DB? If they're in a DB, what's the file name?

They made me do it........ upgrade to v5r2m0. Now, when printing to rmt outqs (all IP locations), *COR does not seem to work. Output that was previously rotated to landscape and cpi set to 13 or 15 cpi no longer works. Print is at 10cpi, landscape happens but print is cut at 80 cols and only 45...
I think I'm ready to go from v4r5 to v5r2....... before I shoot myself in the foot. Does v5r2 still support the original IBM http server? I'm thinking support ends in v5r3. I have an app that uses net.data still in production and of course the developer has been outsourced.
