I have an old Ultra 5 that cannot hold a current date. I do not see a battery that can be replaced. After doing some reading I see an NVRAM/TOD chip that I thought might be a problem.
Does anyone know where the battery is, if this nvram/tod chip is all that needs to be replaced, and what...
I moved my qmail server from solaris to redhat linux and pine is used to as the mail client, using maildir format. Each month I create a new inbox under ~user/mail/ for the prior month's email. Since running on linux, some of the Inboxes display a directory listing of the Inbox instead of the...
I have a program that generates an rss feed by reading each line in a linux directory which contains mp3s and printing it out. This works fine.
I was asked to modify the program so that some of the fields in the MP3s ID3 tag are included on the line. I was able to write a program to extract...
We use an outside spam service to filter spam, which our MX record points to. For inbound mail, we do not have that restriction. The Spam company wants us to specify which IP addresses to accept mail from. I belive this is to be done in the rcpthosts file, although it looks like the format...
Another newbie.
I just installed the demo portable 4.8 version, on a machine with 2 network cards. I have an environment of Cisco switches. The docs say that this version does not require a mirrored port and traffic can be captureed from an entire vlan on that port. Do I have to setup a SPAN...

I would like to export my email contact list in Outlook 2000 so others in my office can use it on their computers. The export option is greyed out and I could just like to save that contact list to a file.
Is there any way to do that?
I just had to bring up a backup qmail server (not qmailrocks) running on solaris 8. On the old solaris qmail server, if a user entered a email address, it displayed on the To line as the full user name. On the new server, not all email addresses are showing the full name, although the mail sends...

I'm installing and configuring disksuite on a Solaris 8 ultra 5, my first experience with it. I already created my state databases, one on each of 2 paritions on each drive. The 2nd drive was bigger than the first but I only partitioned the part of a drive so it was identical in size and...
I have a RocketRaid 133 controller card (not doing raid). I can only get ATA 100 drives in the size drive I need. Can I use the 100 drive with this card?
I installed a new version of opennms on a Debian system. I read that it now uses JavaEmail for notifications. Even when I select "email" for the method of notifications, I do not receive them. I can send mail at the command line. I wouldn't mind using /bin/mail.
I updated the...
I'm trying to configure opnenms to send a email/test message to my phone. I'm using v1.02. Does anyone know how to add the notification. The documentation site only specifies v1.14. I've got users set up already.
Thanks
I am trying to buy some large hard drives for older Dell systems (ie) Optiplex GX110, etc. I continue to be told by the sales folks at BestBuy and CompUSA that there may be a power supply issue with the legacy systems. I may be putting a large drive and a smaller boot drive in the same system...
