As an end user I need to access an application at a 3rd party vendor site. They are publishing it though Citrix. I have no issues with Citrix, but they are requiring Client Drive Mapping in order to be able to save any of the files I am reviewing.
My company is very security concious.
What are...
Thanks.
I DO need to reach some clients on the main VLAN, so that would require the L3 in the switch to be multicast aware, correct? Any recommendation on what to run here?
Thanks!

Environment in a large, flat VLAN (couple 6500s, L3 capable). One group recently introduced an application that delivers via multicast. Problem is, traffic is flooding to ALL ports, not just the multicast clients.
Need to know if the requirement is to segragate this server into another VLAN, or...
Hi,
Need to push a desktop shorcut in conjunction with an application push. Packaged a batch file that deploys the apps, but not the shorcut (calls vbscript). If I run it outside of Config Mgr, it works fine.
Much appreciated as this is driving me nuts.
Thanks.
Al
You use port security on the port:

IMHO the answer here relies on what the users are doing, and what the expectations are. As the others have mentioned most places would kill for a 100mbps WAN connection. That said however, if you have 230 users saturating their own 10/100 port to their local switch, and then contending for the...
Spanning Tree is used to prevent loops in a network. The usual pain points are delays in network connectivity when rebooting while the ports get checked. Used to see problems with Netware, but not in an MS environment. Portfast remedies this for PC/Server ports.
I would agree with the previous...
I have a requirement to publish call recordings for legal purposes. There are a number of wav files so I created a playlist under Windows Media Player. There doesn't seem to be a lot of "lockdown" capabilities for this, so i was wondering if anyone has come across this requirement, and how best...
I am bringing up a 2007 CAS in a VM to service my 2007 users to run in parallel with the 2003 FE box (for my 2003 users)until I can get everyone company wide migrated to 2007.
Al
Not talking OWA here; that works fine for those users on 2007.
I have a 2003 FE server that hosts for ActiveSync. For some reason the mailboxes on 2007 don't respond to the ActiveSync requests (I have conformed that the users are properly authenticated through the 2003 FE box).
Thanks

Hi,
We have three WAN inter-connected sites. Two main sites running 2003 (site A has the Internet connection). Added site C (new office) and put in first 2007 server. Mailflow seems ok, but when we moved the mailboxes from B to C, the Activesync stopped working.
Mail flow goes from site A, to...
We just acquired another company. The two physical companies will stay separated for awhile, but I have been tasked with merging email services under company "A" (acquiring company).
Company A is running Exchange 2003. Company B (acquiree) is SBS 2003 (Exchange 2003).
They don't want full IT...
Thanks guys. I'll take a look at that.
The device is fast, two GB paths in and out, with 10 GB coming next year.
Is VRF-lite a software or feature option to the switch? Is there additional expense for it?
Thanks-
Al
