Tried pulling the network cable out on 2 of the machines over night, and low and behold, they didnt boot up. Both machines have WOL turned off. Very bizarre.

I think I'm going for haunted building Machines are fully powered down, not in sleep mode. Have checked 4 of the 10 effected machines and WOL is turned off. Cant see any Bios setting telling them to wake up either. Life is mystery...... but this is just chuffin confusing. Time for the secret...

Yea I see what you mean. In fairness as someone said previously, its a shared resource, not a shared network, which makes me wonder where sbs decided to pull its IP from.... You may have gathered from my lack of knowledge of the infrastructure that its not my network...its a friend of mines...

Have just purchased a new windows sbs 2003 server. When running through the setup, the person running it selected "use existing network" which was wrong as we are setting up a new network from scratch. Its obtained the IP from the network in the office next door as we are using a shared network...
