Following are the files which needs to be updated when changing the host name of a system. :)
/etc/hosts
/etc/net/ticolts/hosts
/etc/net/ticlts/hosts
/etc/net/ticotsord/hosts
/etc/hostname."interface-name"
/etc/nodename
Update the above files to reflect the new host name.

HAve different host names for the two machines and a same domain name.
Do not forget to have the DNS (MX) entries for both of the machines.

YEah. nice command could change the priority of a process and allow it to use cpu/mem on a priority basis, resulting into more usage of those.

THanks for the help.
Solved the problem: 1. Extended the /tmp size to double; did a defrag on /tmp file system; 2. Errpt command was still firing the error, so used errclr command to remove that error from errpt log file. Now i dont se that error from errpt command..

Some SNMP based monitoring tool (from another SNMP community than ur machine's one)is trying to poll data from ur machine. Disable SNMP on ur machine if its not required.

On the command line:
# mail
U will get mail prompt.
keep on typing d for every mail u want to delete.
After u r done, type q to quit from the mail prompt.

Simple way is to login to the machine thru telnet and after looging in, last unsuccessful login details shall be displayed on ur screen!!

I increased the space in /tmp file system to double.
The problem still persists.
Any suggestions? Do i need to defrag the file system? If yes, can i do it when the system is mounted?

In VCS environment, all the child resources run after the parent resources are made online.. Alternatively, since it is a tree structure, u need to online the dependant parent resources first, then online the required resource.
If u can elaborate more exactly what exactly u need to do, we can...

Try incresing the number of file descriptors for ur file system.. use ulimit cmd for the same.. I had this trouble sometme back and got it solved this way.. Well, as bi said, memory also could be the botleneck..
