one of my users on his new laptop picked up in office last week. logged into our domain fine in the office, and i set his profile to save locally on the laptop so he could logon with his domain credentials when his laptop is offline and out of the office. well, i was in his machine remotely...
I recently deployed 5 laptops to remote users. The laptops are domain members (2k3)running xp pro, but the users dont have local or domain admin privlidges. We want to limit their ability to screw up the machines. Anyway, now I have a quandry on how to make changes to their machines that...
I am about to setup 12 new laptops on our 2k3 domain. I know I can use the domain login for each user on their laptop, and that xp will cache it so they can logon when they are not on the network, but my question is this. How does xp handle the cached login if the domain has a password...
could be your antivirus is scanning directories that it shouldnt....exchange directories, or the login used to run the jobs doesnt have proper exchange permissions....need to set these in exch admin.
the only thing that wound up working was stopping the exchange services and hard rebooting. every which way of rdp / term services would not work. all is well now though, as i uninstalled ts, made sure rdp is enabled.
Mistakenly, I setup our exchange server with rdp in terminal server mode, not remote desktop administration mode, so it locked us out after 120 days or so. The problem is now, that I can not log in at the console, as the monitor/keyboard/mouse were unplugged from the kvm switch, and will not...
We setup a new windows 2003 server several months ago, and the terminal services grace period has expired. I must have been logged into term services while it happened. Anyway, it was in remote admin mode, not licensing mode, or so i thought. I can no longer log into the server, and even...

there must be a log that tracks access of each mailbox....i am looking for it now as well, as i need to see who has been accessing a certain mailbox at what times.
wasnt slandering, but it turned out to be that i was backing up the system state which was throwing the error. but....i will say that veritas support wasnt very helpful, and that one of their own tech support people didn't figure that out, even when in the machine in a webex session. but i am...
When trying to backup the mailbox store and public folder store, I get these errors....and nothing else is backing it up when it happens. I dont have this problem on the exch 2k server in this site that I just migrated all these mailboxes from.
from veritas report:

OK, if I want to log onto a users pc using term serv / remote desktop to show them something...but I want their user account to stay logged in, and not blank out the screen...whats the trick?
