We have 2 sites set up across via an SCN. All outbound calls go out on a PRI from the main site. This includes all outbound calls from the satellite site. The issue is with the 911 calls from the satellite site. No other issues. I have been unable to properly set up the 911 calls. I am certain that it is in the short codes, but I cant seem to get the right combination.

Calls outbound are set up along this line....

Short code 9N disl N 50: Main

ARS 50 Main
code 0N Telephone no 9N Feature Dial 3K1 Line group 1
code 1N Telephone no 9N Feature Dial 3K1 Line group 1
cpde 1N; Telephone no 9N feature Dial 3K1 lINE group 1
code XN; Telephone no 9N Feature dial 3k1 Line group 1

Line group 1 is the IP line that connects the sattelite location to the main site switch.
all local, long distance, 800 calls, etc, go out as intended. Each extension at the satellite terminal has a DID established and this number is assigned to the incoming call route for that extension on the switch at the main location. This is the source for the number that is sent out with each call.

i have tried several set ups for 911 handling but i have not been able to set it up so that it goes out. It shows up as number busy on the display on the phones from the satellite extensions. it does not make the proper transition to the PRI from the switch at the main location. any thoughts on the proper set up to get the 911 calls to go out properly

thanks

Try adding 11/911/Dial Emergency/1 and 911/911/Dial Emergency/1 to the ARS50 at the satellite site.

The main site ARS should also have similar Dial Emergency shortcodes (the same but with the line group set to the external lines).

Don't rely on normal Dial functions for emergency calls, it must be Dial Emergency as that function overrides any call barring settings that might otherwise apply.

All the above (if it works) assumes that the satellite is physically close to the main site (100 yards) so that emergency services responding can be rapidly redirected.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

actually the sites are 10 miles apart. Each extension at the satellite has a unique DID assigned to it. That DID is listed in incoming call route in the IP500 at the main location. that is picked up on outbound calls and is the caller ID on outbound calls from the satellite location. each number is in the 911 data base at the 911 agency and is assigned a unique location. That DID is sent ouit on each outgoing call from the satellite terminal and i assume that it will go out on 911 calls also, if i can get those calls to start going out across the network.

when trying to break out via another site it helps to know exactly how the IPO's work

the IPO will treat the digits it receives on a SCN trunk as if they have been dialed locally on system there for the number sent by the remote site must match the required format (i.e. if a line access code is required this must be sent along with the number to dial)

as you main site needs 9 for a line the remote sites short code needs to dial 9911 to the scn line you also need to take care to ensure the correct cli is transmitted
this should be configured as part of the S on the remote system.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

i tried sending 9911 via the arst table

code 911;
telephone no 9911
feature dial emergency
line group 1

i tried a few other combinations. It gives me a number busy on the display, but it isnt going out on the PRI. it doesnt make the transition across the main switch. the regular numbers do i will test these suggestions this morning.

thanks
