Win XP Pro SP3. Lately the active title bar color changes itself to bright blue (instead of default grey) for no apparent reason. I change it back in the Display applet, which "sticks" for awhile, then it changes itself back. Virus/spyware scans are negative. Anyone know what's happening here?

Are you in a Domain where Group Policy settings may be thwarting you?

Have you checked for any updated Video driver?

Have you tested as another user to see if the problem occurs?

HOW TO: Create a Custom Default User Profile

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Try it first by not checking either box (this will run it in a Read-only mode) to see if it flags any hard drive or file problems. If it does, restart it by ticking both boxes, and rerun it to allow it to attempt to fix any found problems.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
