Okay, I'm having some issues here. I have slack 7, xfree86 3.3.x and an ATI Xpert2000 AGP video card. My current version of xfree86 won't even see my card. I've tried downloading xf86 4.0, the install goes okay but complains about 'Broken Pipes' after complaining about the path being too long/symbolic links. I've copied the files into /tempx - that should be a rather short path. ATI Xpert2000 and Slak 7 and Xfree86

This is not the greatest solution, but it ended all my problems. Suse 6.4 has Xfree 4 built into it. I downloaded the image file (via DSL) from their site and haven't looked back. Suse has also turned out to be very stable. It uses YAST2 to make basic configuration a snap, then you can concentrate on tweaking the kernel, etc.<br> I went through the same thing you are going through now with Red Hat. By the way, if you don't have DSL, send me a blank CD and the postage to send it back and I'll burn you a copy. You just put it in the CD and boot. Mine was installed in about 90 minutes or less.<br><br>
