Hi,

Does any one know if you can re program the "Ring/Message indicator" lamp on the top of the 53xx IP sets to be a busy indicator? IE be on steady when you are on a call. It's for a group of users using headsets so colleagues can see if they're on a call.

Cheers,
John.

The only control you have of the lamp is to tell it not to flash with a MWI

It cannot be used as a Set Busy Indicator

There are headset indicators that you can get for certain headset types. They light up when someone is on the phone. I know for sure Plantronics has them.

@ warlockcode - really? Are you sure you read the question correctly?

Have had others request the feature but it is not possible.

You can't duct tape stupid.

Hi and thanks for the comments, I didn't think it was possible. Plantronics and Jabra have one but they work from the 3.5mm auxiliary jack on their cordless base units only, ours are corded headsets! There is an American one on headsets.com which works via the cable in the headset jack for corded or cordless, but I've not been able to find a UK equivalent.

Cheers,
John.
