I have just installed NAV for Exchange version 2.11. It is on a standalone server and appeared to install fine.

A message in the event log says this: Unable to Auto-Protect mailbox Internet Mail Service (<<servername>>).

Therefore I cannot find out where any caught viruses are coming from.

Can anybody help?

Is this a permisson issue, and you have no access to this folder?

Matthew,

It is not a permissions issue. I have found out from Norton's discussion area that it should not cause a problem with functionality. The reason that sender or recipient of viruses were not being reported is that we were using MAPI/VAPI auto-protect mode. We have now switched to using MAPI only to see if this fixes the problem.

Cheers

Hi John,

This error is repaired by NAVMSE V 2.14. It appears that the problem with previous versions 2.xx cause this error by trying to scan the mailbox connector and not the mailbox.

Just be careful when upgrading to V2.14 as there are some specifics to the install you may need to address for your exchange setup.

let me know if this helped you out.

Thanks!
