I just purchased a Linksys Hub, Router, Wireless Point of prescence unit and connected it with my cable modem and my desktop unit. Works great! Now I am trying to connect my laptop wirelessly to the unit using the Linksys wireless PCMCIA Card.

Using the utilities, I can see that the card is receiving traffic, but not sending. The card will not bind with TCP/IP and it only seems to connect at 2 Mbs vs 11. I am working on this with the laptop right next to the receiver. I don't have anything else in the house using the 2.4 Ghz frequency. Laptop is a compaq using Windows ME.

Any ideas of what else I can try? Dan

Make sure you have DHCP setup on both the router and the laptop. I installed mine without a hich and I do get 11Mbs most of the times. Good luck.

Got it working. I actually had a bad wireless NIC. Returned it and the new one worked right a way. Thanks for the tip anyway! Dan
