I am no expert on the trunk setting on a Nortel, but I have this question...It seems we have started incrementing error slips on our PRI. The carrier says the errors are coming from our equipment (Nortel Option 11C). He says I need to change the trunk interface to 'loop'. How would I check this and change, if need be? Oh, and calls are working fine on the PRI. Faxes are not coming in clean. Thanks in advance.

Is this a new circuit just installed or has it been running a while and just started having issues?
Do you have a loop back jack that you can use to test your own equipment after hours?

Sounds like a bunch of bull to me. There is no 'loop' setting for a PRI, all signaling is done via D-Channel.

Sounds like another case of the provider being F.O.S.

Same thoughts I had. Nothing has changed on the config to my knowledge and now they are seeing slips and saying its coming from my equipment.

This circuit has been installed since 2004 and nothing has changed that I know of.

How many T1's do you have, if you only have one it should be clocking off of it.
Go to LD 73 and do a PRT the TYPE is DDB and see where your clock card is.

I wonder if the carrier meant you have to put it in loopback for them to test it.

You loop towards them so they can test and you loop towards you so you can test.

Personally, I would just reboot the CSU/DSU as a first step.

Good point about rebooting the CSU, if it's 7 years old, it may have developed a little arthritis.

If you have multiple circuits, you can also roll the CSU of the faulty loop with a known good one and see if the trouble follows the CSU.

I did a LD 73 and printed the DDB. Here is the output:
REQ prt
TYPE ddb

CC0 2
PREF CC0 2
SREF CC0 FREE RUN

TRSH 00
RALM 128
BIPC 128
LFAC 0
BIPV 3 2
SRTK 24 3600
SRNT 15 3
LFAL 17 511
SRIM 1
SRMM 2
ICS

Last night the carrier looped back to the CSU and they say they are not seeing any errors or slips from that stress test. I can try to reset the CSU/DSU and see what happens. Any other ideas? I am on the verge of calling a vendor out at this point.

Do a STAT in LD 60 and see if it clocking off of loop 2
