Lots of software and docs dropped on the Avaya site over the last few days. Just looking to see what people are seeing/liking/hating and get the conversation started. So far my observations have been:

1. RHEL 8.4 / ESXI 7 ......good. ESXI 6.5 and below no longer supported.
2. Media-GW "edge mode". Uses ASBCE to register a G450 over an external network/internet.......sounds cool.
3. AVP being replaced by ASP. Not seeing a ton of info but looks more like standard esxi 7 vs the slightly tweaked Avaya version used in AVP. Appears to be a last minute problem with ASP on S8300's which might delay some upgrades if you have any S8300's in your environment. Utility server goes away.
4. No more separate Kernel & PLAT patches, now combined as 1 SSP patch.

What has everyone else seen?

I am seeing Aura 10 can not be purchased as perpetual licenses and only subscription model (not tech comment but a purchasing comment). Also, in a IAUG call, they were saying that customers in the cloud on RedayNow will get features updates before On Prem which they are calling Aura 10 Enterprise.

Here are two links:
Aura 10 Roadmap: Aura Messageing Roadmap:
Aura 10 had a lot of the talk was about moving to a Dev Ops model to role out features faster for cloud.

It looks like moving forward for voice messaging, Avaya is going to develop a new Voicemail platform and not continue developing features on Avaya Messaging (previously called OfficeLinx). On the webinar they said that they are moving to a next generation voicemail system and a lot of people were complaining about OfficeLinx and people preferred AAM. They said moving forward you can still buy OfficeLinx for voicemail but no more feature packs will come out. I assume in ReadyNow Cloud they will use the next generation voicemail system when it becomes developed.

These webinars were good but I am curious also what other people are hearing from the field regarding Aura 10 and what is their upgrade plan moving forward.

Not sure how accurate but I was told the following about 10.1

They haven't got the ability to run hybrid yet, i.e use on prem SIP trunks with the cloud hosted servers. Avaya told me this will be coming in 10.2 next year.

The subscription does have flex in the subscription licencing, this was described as a free way of getting an extra 30% as the flex aspect is not charged.

Looks like SBC will be coming onto the S8300F to be run along with CM/BSM.

I thought it was 20%.

We get an extra 10% in the UK as we are nicer.
