I am using DBase 5.0 for DOS.
I want to do command substitution from a DBase Exe meaning
I have a statement saying "&var1" where "var1" is a command issued from the command window from within the DBase 5.0 IDE. Examples for "var1" can be "use table1" or "browse".

The program works fine when executed from the DBase 5.0 IDE whereas if it is built into an EXE and run, it results in an error "Command not supported at runtime".

Is there a way of overcoming this?

Regards.
Madhav.
