Customer periodically gets very long voicemails. These are then being emailed, but sometimes exceed the maximum size allowed by there mail service provider.

Is there a way to have these files compressed prior to being sent?

Nope :)

Upgrade to Release 10.0 (or it may have been 9.1, my memory is dodgy), it uses encoding that halves the size of the wav files compared to previous releases.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Was this in the feature notes? On another note, I just had a Avaya test question that asked the file size per minute with voicemail pro, this had always been 1mb per minute, yet the only test answer that was even close mentioned .5mb per minute, and now I know why! Thx!

In the What's New at the front of the Voicemail Pro Admin manual. Added in 9.1. The system now uses A-law or U-law encoding.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
