I have recently upgraded my system to Windows XP. I have loaded VB 6.0 and Crystal reports 8.5 onto my system. I have not loaded any of my applications because I wanted to make sure that everything is working o.k.
It's not.
The first problem I have is that whe I try to acces the report designer form the Add-Ins menu, it invokes version 4.5 of Crystal, which is the standard version. I remember htis happening when I initially installed on Windows NT/2000 and I don't remember if there is actually a solution to the propblem. So the worst case is that I cannot open the actual Crystal reports applicaiton from within VB. Is this correct?
The other problem is bigger. When I try to add a Crystal report using Project...Add Crystal Report 8.5, I get the usual questions about what type of report and whether or not I want a form with the viwer control on it. When I respond to these questions, VB crashes with memory could not be read error.
Have I possibly installed something wrong or is there a service pack / patch for VB on Windows XP?
Any help would be appreciated.
