Since I have installed win98 I can't open dbaseIII plus anymore. I always run out of memory.

Is there nothing I can do to resolve this problem?

did you check the properties of the icon and made sure that the memory tab was set to "AUTO"?

English is too hard to learn, the vowles change too much like come/home, comb/tomb, book/school, high/bye/sty, etc., etc. So should I say Geez or Sheez or Cheeze? hehe.

I had similar problems with many of my old DOS programs, so here's what I did. I created a shortcut to DOS and put it on my Office toolbar (you can put it on your desktop if you don't use Office toolbar). Right click on it and choose properties. Click the Memory tab. There you'l find 4 areas. Set the following properties and click OK.
'Conventional memory' Auto to both. Protected UNCHECKED
'Expanded (EMS) memory' Total = 4096
'Extended (XMS) memory' Total = 4096
'MS-dos protected mode...' Total = Auto

-------------

I also have a CONFIG.SYS on C:\ It consists of the following 3 lines:

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE
Device=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ANSI.SYS
Shell=C:\WINDOWS C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM /p /e:800
FILES=40

That should do it. At least it will point you in the right direction.
