I have the letters mixed up since earler problems, but the computer works fine. My startdrive is D and the external FireWire drive is C.

After running CHECKDISK on the C drive, it will not show again in Windows. The drive is working, however, but i don't know what it's doing... (it makes some noice)

It's not possible to see the drive in Windows anymore. I thought the disk were in pretty good shape since I've used some other useful tools (CCleaner + Eusing Free Registry Cleaner). These tools with great success.

When I click the small icon in the icontray in the lower right corner on the screen, the text says the disk is fine! There is no problem...

When I open "This Computer" the C-drive will show... But not in any disktool...

My startdrive since 3 years back in time is letter D, for some reason I don't know!

(How do you edit posts...!?)

The error msg shows as follow: (my translation from Swedish...)

"C:\ is not avalible.

An error occured when the inpage-event was executed."

Maybe the error msg will show different text in English... Probably, yes!

I have never heard of an "inpage-event"...??

(In Swedish: C:\ är inte tillgänglig. Ett fel inträffade när inpage-åtgärd utfördes.)

I now looked for new drivers. The current seemed to work. i reinstalled the drivers... no problem! I restarted the computer and it is possible to hear the disk to work... But it will not show in Windows!

Strage error... What is "inpage"?

Does anyone know of a (simple...??) disk checking tool... I loved the CCleaner!!

I think it is the File Allocation Table that is scewed up...

Is there a software in the market that has the capoability to restore this file!?

How about Norton Utillities?? Any other alternative!?
