Any reply or directions would be appreciated.
An ongoing problem occurs at my company when a requestor orders an item that is not held at his/her warehouse (1). The originator can only choose from warehouses(2)where the item is stocked (not the vendor (3)). If the item is not at the warehouse (2) he/she chooses, then a Purchase Order is created from the requisition and prints out at the vendor (3). The vendor acts on the Purchase Order and sends it to the warehouse (2)that could not fill the requisition firsthand. When the Purchase Order is received at the warehouse (2)that could not fill firsthand, a requisition is printed and the item is shipped to the originating warehouse(1).
This (double shipping) can be avoided with the vendor (3)being able to ship directly to the originating warehouse (1), effectively cutting out the middleman (warehouse (2)).
The limitation occurs when ordering in screen MSO140 when the originating warehouse (1) cannot be accessed. Is there a way to make this field active on this screen default or option menu.
If there are other ways to (eliminate the middleman) that will work, please elaborate. This occurs frequently and is very costly to our company.
Thank you in advance.
Claude.
