One of my users pulled some Excel formatted reports from ASP and apparently saved them as separate tabs in an Excel spreadsheet - but saved them as .htm files. Now, when she attempts to open the file, she receives the message indicated in the subject header of this thread. I'm fairly certain that the error is because the file(s) were saved as .htm files instead of .xls file(s), but I'm not sure if there is a way to retrieve the data. Can anyone offer any insight or suggestions? Thanks!

Rename them to *.xls?

She had already renamed them to .xls files, but they were still .htm file types. I think the issue lies there but not sure if there is a way to recover the information that is not showing up.
