This is an obscure one so I'm not holding out much hope of being able to find a fix but thought if anyone know's what going on here then it's the guys at Tek-Tips!
I have an Excel 2002 spreadsheet with a Excel Web Query to my data (on a 3rd party vendors site, it's simple tab delimeted text data).
This query returns data to excel and we run our reports off it and all works well, EXCEPT when we get text fields returned with characters of foreign languages im them say French for instance, Excel doesn't show the characters correctly.
For instance in Excel text might look like this
Reactivité. / Implication des équipes
Visibilité mondiale, avantage client
But when I look at the actually querys data (in IE or in the preview window when editing the query) it looks good with the correct Accents on the lettering. Excel is not showing these characters correctly once imported.
I was hoping there was a formatting setting somewhere that would allow international characters to be displayed correctly (this is not a font issue, already been down that path).
