Now that is interesting but totally not how it works in the real world.
It will be cheaper an better for your customer to provide the essential edition license yourself.

I agree... The most important question is how long it will take to get the license.

If it takes 24 hours after replacing... Don't know how to tell the customer that he has a service contract, gets new hardware but has to wait more than a day to be able to use the system again...

I can generally get a license in less than an hour during normal working hours. It is CERTAINLY faster than attempting to get one via a service request

Same here. A phone call to my distributor or my Avaya Camm generally gets me licenses very quickly.
