I have set up a CCR and when I dial into the office to access my messages I first transfer to my extension then press ** to access the mailbox. However, instead of getting into the mailbox I am sent back to the main menu and I have to start to process all over again. Sometimes I get lucky and get into the mailbox, but it's about a 10% hit rate, which can be frustrating. Any recommendations?

You will find that some Mobile carriers will give you this problem, if you are calling from a cell phone.

However, try pressing *, pause for a few seconds, then press * again. Then enter your mailbox number and password as one continuous string.

Sometimes you have to enter the digits a little slower when checking your mail remotely. This is especially true when calling in from a cell phone rather than a land line.

I hope this helps!

I tried this and it exited the system. I don't think the problem is limited to cell phones either, I have the same frustration with a land line.

Any other thoughts?

Are you using the CCR and AA from the Voice Mail or the phone system?

IF you are calling directly into the voice mail, once you hear you companies greeting then dial ** dont dial your extension unless you are using the CCR from the phone system.

That did the trick! I was going to my extension first, then pressing **. If I press ** at the main message it prompts me for my extension and password. All this is programmed in my cell phone now so I'm on easy street.

Thanks for your help.

After giving this some thought you may want to check and see if the return to aa is set to yes.

To do this just log into your voice mail by press Feature 983 and then enter your log which is 120000 or 1020000

Then press AA and then press AA again
and make sure return to AA is set to Yes

Let me know if this works.
