Is there a way to select a non square area to group shapes. I have a architectural view of our facility. I would like to group areas of the building. Areas or groups are not shaped like boxes so the rectangle tool does not work so well. Is there a way to use the line tools to draw an odd shaped line around and area and then group everythin within it?

Thanks

Just individually select the shapes you want to group. Click on the first shape, then shift-click on the second, and so forth until all the shapes you want to group are selected. Then go to Shape -> Grouping and click on Group. Only the shapes you selected will be included in the group, although other shapes may appear to be in the box that defines the group. Then whatever action you perform on the group will only affect the shapes that have been grouped.
