OB1, yes we have used this facility successfully. There were initially bugs in 4.1 with MSO088 that Mincom duly fixed. If you're still interested here are my notes on this facility:
This is a mechanism to define a set of requests that can be triggered together: for instance if 5 requests of the same program need to be placed each time, but with different values in some of the parameters. Eg: same report by with selection by work group, to be issued for 5 work groups. Other parameters like date from-to will be common for the group and need to be specified when the group is requested.
1. Create a request parameter with Request Type = G (group)
Create parameter records for those parameters that will be common when the group will be requested (eg date from /to). These parameters should have a label entered in the Group Label field (table LABL)
2. Corresponding parameters of the programs to be grouped also need to have same labels recorded. These labels are used to map parameters even if they are at different offsets within the request record.
3. Build the request group with program MSO088 to maintain group requests: add ‘A’ individual programs to the group by specifying constant values(like for the cyclic requests) into the request parameters that will not be common, eg the values for the “work group” parameter
Note: using “D” to delete the request group from MSO088 will delete it from MSF081 too; action ‘A’ cannot be used to add a request group; this needs to be created via mso081 and is automatically listed my MSO088. ‘A’ can only be used to add reports towards an existing group
Thanks heaps for all the info.....I'll recheck my process and give it another go. We do a lot of month end reports and my aim was to try to set up group requests for those and get rid of the hack work
Thanks again
