How do i rotate text in a UML Association Role stencil?

I am trying to build a collaboration diagram. I have a message going vertically down from one object to another. Visio insists on making the text parallel the line (thereby over lapping the objects on both sides) Is there any way I can make the text vertical instead of horizontal?

Since the object is locked, the normal rotate text mode doesn't seem to work.
