Hi,
I have had a problem with my Hewlett Packard DeskJet 880C printer since I
purchased it and myself and Hewlett Packard have been unable to resolve it.
The fault occurs when I turn the printer on (the pc is already running) and
manifests itself with the printer feeding a sheet of paper through the
carriage rollers and then stopping, I then have to press the resume button
which results in the sheet of paper being placed in the finished tray. This
happens every time I turn the printer on, although I have no further
problems after this and print quality is good.
Hewlett Packard technical support is a shambles, on their advice I have
disabled bi-directional communication and Windows print technology in the
configuration file, and I was also told to leave the pc switched on for 15
minutes before switching the printer on!, why I don't know.
My pc is a Mesh Pentium III 500Z running Windows 98SE and the printer is
connected with a parallel cable. I have been unable to get through to Mesh
technical support, and emails are not replied to. I have visited Hewlett
Packard's web site to get the latest printer driver, but I discovered that
the driver supplied with the printer is the latest driver. I have also sent
an email to Hewlett Packard via their website but they didn't bother to
reply.
Hoping you can help to resolve this problem.
