indicator light ghost

I have a customer with a CICS that we recently bumped up to 3 digit system vs 2 digit (needed the hunt groups) a few days after that all of the message lights turned on on the phones (no message just the indicator) checking feat # 6 5 showed that there was no message waiting but the lamp was still on. pulled the line cord to each phone and forced a reset and the light went off. a few days later the lamp turned on again on all phones. this time I pulled the power to the ICS and hope that will solve it. if it dosen't the next step is to default the system and reprogram.

has anybody heard of something like this before?

any other suggestions for fixing it?

Did you REINSTALL the vmail to go 3 digits also?
Stupid question for a guy like you but I had to ask lol

My guess is a bug injected into the software after going to 3 digits and only some or all phones (depending on rls?) are sensitive to it depending on the severity of the bug or the software release that has the bug.

I just bumped another similar thread for you to see what they may have done, its a MICS 5.0 and happens with 2 sets.

Yup I had done a REINSTAL to bump it up to 3 digits on the voicemail. looks like I will have to do a STARTUP to hopefully clear out the wierdness or would you suggest pulling the software and doing a default startup.?

I did a power down restart about 2 weeks ago and haven't been yelled at yet. (Touch wood)
