Is there is a limit to printer name characters?

I wonder if anyone could help me. I am trying to create a number of printers and they start at 14 characters long, some of which also have special characters in the name ie '-'

Does anyone know if there is a maximum limit of characters of printer names within hpux?

'man lpadmin' states that
1) printer names must not be longer than 14 characters.
2) special characters other than'_' are not allowed.
