The next batch of patches for XP2 will be the last.

You need to XP SP3 if you haven't already.

Support for Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) will end on July 13, 2010. If you are running Windows XP SP2 after support ends, you will not receive security updates for Windows. To keep your Windows XP computer up-to-date download Service Pack 3 through Windows update now.

[Sarcastically] You mean it's really time to install XP SP3 now that XP has gone away, Vista has come and gone and we're now on Windows 7???

Who'd have thunk it??? I steadfastly refuse to budge off of XP SP1. [/Sarcastically]

I mock from the standpoint of what you SHOULD be doing, but reality is often quite different. Just like nobody should smoke cigarettes and everyone should have a smoke detector in their house, etc.

So sad....... BUT more money for me when malware infects the systems or the entire network.

I'm wondering why these companies haven't updated to SP3. They must have WSUS servers (if they have a fair number of computers - which they would if they used the soft choice product to inventory their computers, because if they had only a few computers they could have done it manually) which would make it easy to roll SP3 out to computers. So, it's either fear of software incompatibility or verified software incompatibility or laziness to not TEST for software incompatibility.

I vote for LAZINESS.

...I steadfastly refuse to budge off of XP SP1.". And there was me thinking you were still using Chicago!

I wonder how many hackers are waiting until next week to release a new strain of malware / other exploit that gets though XP SP2
