Can anyone help with this little problem.

A friend of mine has created some documents on Freehand 8, on a mac, and I wish to load them into Freehand 10 on a PC.

The file is called filename.fh8 but when I open it, I get the error "Could not convert the document because the file is not a valid FreeHand document"

If I try to import it into a blank page I get the error
"Could not import because it is not the right kind of document"

I have tried just renaming the file, to not effect.

Could any Freehand users tell me, is there a different file type that my friend should use, or a special way of saving work for use on a pc.

Thank you for any help or comments.

You could try saving the file as a freehand EPS with include document checked when you save it.

Another thing to think about is the fonts, if you wish to use the document from the mac make sure all the text is conveted to out lines. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.
