Anybody here been to this event before? If so, how was your experience?

We are a Liant shop. I am interested in attending MFW in hopes of learning how MF will handle (or fold) RM/Cobol into their existing product line, but my general sense is that these things tend to be a lot of sales hoopla (I used to work for a software vendor myself). If that is the case, then I'll push to have my boss go. If this is going to be productive for those of us in the trenches getting the work done, then I'll push for myself to go.

Any input?

Code what you mean,
and mean what you code!
But by all means post your code!

I saw the webcast earlier this week (no sound as I had to make an international phone call (to UK) to hear that added to a livemeeting 2007 slideshow!!!!! I thought this is 2009, looks (sounds) more like 1989)
If you're a developer, then I wouldn't go, but if you're with marketing, no problem...

Can't speak on the Liant to MF con(tro)version, but if you're switching, you'd better double-check any code-conversions made. MF Cobol can be a tricky beast, (If the helpfile mentions 'documentary only', try removing that statement and see if it starts working as expected) although is usually behaves nicely while in its cage ;-)
