MIMSVu User Views

Has anyone developed customized views for the allowing more straightforward access for users in different streams for MIMS-Vu? I was under the impression that the views would have been customized by Mincom as part of the product, but that does not appear to be the case. We are getting ready to do some training with the various user groups, i.e. Maintenance, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Stats, Costing/Financials and we wanted to get the views in place first.

The only thing we have received from MINCOM for MIMSVu is the data base defined in the Knowledge Library. Any Queries, Views and Reports we have to develop.

Cindy,<br><br>This thread may be out of date, but I received the following information from our MIMSVu trainer, Britt Luzzi, on the topic:<br><br>Mincom provides pre-set 'views' of tables in MIMSVu that group by job function and module (These views are installed as part of the MIMSVu full install).&nbsp;&nbsp;These views can be used in conjunction with MIMSVu security to allow different users to access only small parts of the entire MIMS database.&nbsp;&nbsp;These are used for two reasons:<br><br>1. To provide data security if required.<br>2. I think Cindy is asking for Some scripts to create views for<br>say supply user only having access to supply tables etc...<br>(on the Database side - not MIMSVU side which ODUS from Mincom referred to)<br>I think it is a valid point.<br><br>Recent versions of MIMS provie a MIMS_VIEWS.sql script, but you will have to chnage it to create your specific requirments.<br><br>From my experience, payroll is the really touchy one you dont want to let other people see.<br>ie MSF838. So at the very least dont let just anyone see that.
