I have a M748LMRT PC100 Systemboard and I am trying to find technical specs regarding the pinouts of this motherboard, more specifically the pinouts for the 17 pin PS/2 and USB connector on the board.
I have had no luck with the manufacturer and less then that online. If anyone has any ideas, including if there is a way to electronically determine which pin does what,i would appreciate it.

Thanx!!

Are you talking about the ATX form card header (marked J3 in the manual)? (You can find the manual at )

I don't have the pin-outs, although I have looked them up before. I don't remember what they are, but I want to say that we found the pinout in a different PC Chip Motherboard manual (they all used the same ATX Form Card). Can't say for sure--it was a while ago.

Do you just need USB or PS/2 for the board? If so, you should be able to order the form card. Do a search for PC Chips ATX form card--I am sure that you will find them. Or--Are you located in the US? If so, I have the name of a company that may still have some of these (but they do not ship out of the US). I would be willing to contact them and see if they still have some.

BTW, don't try to use and Asus ATX form card if you find them--the pin out IS different (I do remember that)! Merry Christmas [santa]

Mudskipper,

What i need is to get a PS/2 mouse working so this system will be compatible with a KVM switch that I have.

Is the header just fed thru to the PC slot cover and a ps/2 jack or is there more circuitry involved.I ask this because I have a slot cover for the back of the PC with a PS/2 connector on it and 4 wires leading off, thus if I could figure out the pinout on the header on the mainboard I can adapt to it if it is just fed off the mainboard...... and thank you much for the previous info!!!

If it is J3 that you are trying to connect it to, then I know that it actually hooks to a circuit board. What is actually done on this board, I do not know.

As much as I like to burn out boards, I would really recommend trying to find one of the ATX form cards ;-) When we looked up the pin outs previously, we were also trying to get a PS/2 Mouse working--didn't smoke that board, but I never did get it going--we ended up finding an ATX form card from a local computer shop.

I get the feeling that you want to hook this up immediately, but if you don't mind waiting, here is one site that I found with the card (no, I don't vouch for them--I have never done business with this company) Merry Christmas [santa]
