We recently converted to Netware 5. Since the conversion, we have had numerous complaints about the Netware broadcast message that pops up when the users receive email or print from any application.
We have tried going into the Novell Client32 Properties, and turning off the notify option. We have also turned off the notify option in each users printer properties. Yet, everyone continues to get pop-ups. In fact, they are receiving two messages for each event.
Has anyone found the solution to this?
Thank you.
The notify option is definately set within the Client32 properties.

The other thing to check.. If you are printing from DOS based applications, you can modify your capture command to issue a NoNotify as part of the command line.

Thanks for the help. I also finally found some info on this on the Novell web site. All I learned from them, though, is that it can't be turned off without modifying the .ini files.
Same thing happened when we upgraded a 3.11 network. As a matter of fact, the information that was displayed in the broadcast messages was incomplete and incorrect.

The Client that comes on the CD-ROM is broke (3.0.1?)

Download the newest client from Novell (We got 3.10) and the radio buttons that turn off notify really work.
Good Luck
