I don't know if I can help (in fact I probably can't) but it isn't greyed out for me, so I think you're going to have to provide some more information.
Some information that might help (not an exhaustive list) would be ...
Are you running a trial version or the full product?
Is the option enabled or disabled whilst greyed out?
Does your mail server allow the setting?
Do you have full authority on the machine?
