Pivot table Issue when switching from Excel 2003 to 2007

Hi,

I have several pivot tables created in an excel sheet. These tables were created in excel 2003. These pivot tables were created so that they reference external data but cannot be refreshed. However, all other normal pivot table functions are possible. After switching to excel 2007 some of these pivot tables have converted to normal cells with data. Does anyone have an idea why? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

One more thing. As soon as I open the file in excel 2007 I get a message saying "there is unreadable content in the excel file. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook." I click on "Yes" to open the file and I think that is where it tries to repair some of the pivot tables and ends up converting them to normal cells.
