HI all

I have dug every were online for a answer to my problem maybe some one thats a guru on postfix can help me.

I got a SuSE box running post fix and behind that is my Exchange server. I want to let postfix get the mail, scan it for viruses, kill spam and forward mail to the exchange server behind the SuSE box , wich is also acting as a Firewall.

Has any one done this before. If so please be as kind as to part with this wisdom.

G'day

Yeah doing a similar thing. Postfix running RAV -> Exchange via firewall. Modify main.cf (/etc/postfix on OpenBSD)and make sure that $mydomain = <your mail domain name> then ensure $relayhost = [ip address of exchange]:port (usually 25)

Run '/postfix reload' after saving change to main.cf or reboot.

Obviously you will also need to define approriate rules on your firewall for smtp traffic if you haven't already.

Hope this helps

just make my thoughts clear
i have my situation as follows

internet<---->[postfix] <-------> [exchange]

i want to relay specific domains to the exchange server and some domains deliver localy on the linux box

currently i'm using the transport_maps to forward all the mail to exchage, but i want to pass it through my linux box to apply some processing to the mail traffic

so i need to setup

mydestination - to all those domains
relay_domains - to all the domains i want to deliver to exchage
relayhost - to the ip:host of the exchange

could this work?
what to setup the mydomain to?

thanx
